Our faculty stood out at IECON 2026—the most significant international conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, from October 18–21, 2026—through its strong academic representation and contributions to the event’s organization.

Prof. Dr. Sertaç Bayhan, a faculty member of our school, served as the conference chair, and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal, also attended the event. Our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, along with our faculty members Prof. Dr. Tayfun Menlik, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naki Güler, and Dr. Uğur Fesli, also attended the conference and contributed to both the scientific and organizational efforts.

At the conference, which received approximately 2,000 scientific paper submissions, scientific sessions and international collaboration events were held in strategic fields such as industrial electronics, power electronics, renewable energy, smart grids, electric transportation, and artificial intelligence.

As part of the conference, two separate academic cooperation protocols were signed between Gazi University and the Warsaw University of Technology, while opportunities for joint research projects and scientific collaboration with Qatar’s leading universities and research institutions were also evaluated.

The roles undertaken by our Faculty of Technology’s faculty members in the management and organization of such a prestigious international conference once again demonstrated our Faculty’s academic expertise and its contribution to international scientific collaborations.
