“CIVIL ANKARA 2025” event was held at Gazi Concert Hall by our University Career Planning Application and Research Center (KAPUM) and our Faculty Construction Society with the participation of Altındağ Municipality Deputy Mayor Abdurrahman Keleş, Chamber of Architects Ankara Branch President Derya Başyılmaz, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen and Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer, Dean Prof. Dr. Musa Atar, KAPUM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Günaydın, sector representatives, academics, managers, guests and students.
Arif Yalçın, President of the Construction Society, made the opening speech of the program, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. Stating that they organize the Civil Ankara event every year as a community, Arif Yalçın completed his speech by talking about the aims of the Civil Ankara program.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, our Dean Prof. Dr. Musa Atar said that the foundations of the Faculty of Technology were laid in 1937 and that our Faculty is one of the best institutions in Turkey that trains applied engineers. Stating that they are working hard to improve the quality of education at the Faculty, Dean Prof. Dr. Musa Atar mentioned that they care about such events and thanked those who contributed.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen shared the perspective of the Rectorate administration on the event. Underlining that Civil Engineering is one of the important fields of today and the future, Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen stated that Turkey is an earthquake country and at this point, young civil engineers have important duties. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen concluded his words by emphasizing that he thinks this event will make a significant contribution to the professional development of the students.
Derya Başyılmaz, President of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects, took the last word at the opening ceremony and said that this was the second time she attended this event. Pointing out that the fields of Architecture and Engineering have a direct impact on human life, Derya Başyılmaz, President of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects, concluded her words by thanking those who contributed to the organization of the program.
After the opening speeches, Altındağ Deputy Mayor Abdurrahman Keleş made his presentation in the first session of the event. The program ended with group photos taken after the other sessions were held.
