Our Graduation Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Academic Year Was Held

Our faculty’s Graduation Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Academic Year was held on June 10, 2026, at the Itri Congress and Culture Center of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. Our faculty took pride in graduating 762 young engineers during the 2025–2026 academic year.

The morning session was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Serdar Polat, our Dean Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, University Secretary General Mustafa Avşar, deans, faculty members, students, and their families. The program began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a musical performance by students from the Music Education Department of the Fine Arts Division at the Gazi Faculty of Education.

In his opening remarks, our Dean, Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, emphasized Gazi University’s rich history and the Faculty of Technology’s approach to applied engineering education. Stating his belief that the graduating students will contribute to our country’s development with their knowledge, skills, and sense of responsibility, Demirbaş congratulated our students, their families, and our academic staff.

In his speech, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta, stated that graduation marks a new beginning and noted that the young engineers will take on important roles in Turkey’s goals in science, technology, and manufacturing. Expressing his belief that the graduates, who have been educated through Gazi University’s expertise, will succeed in their professional careers, Hayta congratulated all the graduates.

Following the speeches, certificates and plaques were presented to the students who ranked at the top of their respective departments. The third-place recipients were Mayarah Ali Mohammed Abu Ighrarah, a student in the Department of Energy Systems Engineering, and Şeyma Öcal, a student in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering; the second-place recipient was Görkem Koç, a student in the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering; and the first-place recipient was Erkut Özgül, also a student in the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering. Following a speech by our top student, Erkut Özgül, a ceremony was held to inscribe his name on the honor roll and to hand over the faculty flag.

The morning session continued with the presentation of certificates and plaques to students who graduated and received honors in the Departments of Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, and Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. The session concluded with the engineering oath and the cap-tossing ceremony.

The afternoon session was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen and Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Selami Candan, our Dean Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, faculty members, students, and their families. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, delivered the opening remarks, congratulating all our students and expressing his belief that our graduates will make the best use of their engineering knowledge and expertise for the future of our country.

In his remarks, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, noted that the Faculty of Technology, with its application-oriented educational approach, trains qualified engineers to meet the needs of industry and society. Wishing the graduates success in their professional careers, Karyeyen emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and contributing to production.

As part of the program, certificates were presented to students who were eligible to receive the Social Transcript Certificate. Following this, certificates and plaques were awarded to students who graduated and achieved top honors in the departments of Automotive Engineering, Wood Products Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Energy Systems Engineering.

Following the recitation of the engineering oath, the cap-tossing ceremony took place, bringing great joy to our graduates, their families, and the faculty. The ceremony concluded with a send-off for our young engineers as they embarked on their professional careers.
