The third stage of the Cybersecurity Training Series organized by the Public Cybersecurity Association was held at our Faculty. The training, titled “Cyber Incident Response Processes,” addressed how institutions should organize themselves against cyber attacks, the duties of incident response teams, and the measures to be taken after an attack.
In his opening speech, Dr. Nurullah Celal Uslu, President of the Public Cybersecurity Association, provided information about previous training sessions and emphasized that this stage addressed an extremely critical issue. Uslu stated, “This training does not only provide technical information, but also aims to raise awareness and provide a strategic perspective in the field of cybersecurity to participants.” He also noted that the training would continue in order to provide the public and private sectors with competent cybersecurity experts.
The Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Musa Atar, stated in his speech that our faculty offers both theoretical and practical approaches in engineering education, saying, “Today, we are holding an important event to share knowledge in the field of cybersecurity and outline a vision for the future, at a time when artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digitalization are gaining importance.” Atar also stated that they plan to launch a bachelor's degree program in Cybersecurity Engineering if the appropriate conditions are met.
In his speech, our university's Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, stated that cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important at the level of state policies and emphasized that Gazi University will continue to contribute to efforts in this field.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session for participants.
