Organized by our Deanery and the Wood Science and Technology Society (ABITET), the "Entrepreneurship: The Journey to Success" conference was held on May 8, 2025 with great participation. In the event hosted by our faculty, prominent names of the business world came together with students and shared their experiences and entrepreneurship journeys.
The opening speech of the conference was delivered by our Dean Prof. Dr. Musa Atar. In his speech, our Dean emphasized the role of universities in supporting the entrepreneurship culture and drew attention to the importance of raising students not only as professionals but also as innovative and productive individuals.
The following speakers participated in the event;
-Mr. Davut Doğan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Doğanlar Holding,
-Mr. Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Association of Anatolian Lions Businessmen,
-Mr. İbrahim Akkuş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Efor Holding,
-Mr. Yılmaz Soycan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Soycan Group of Companies,
-Mr. Fuat Sami, Producer of “Do You Have an Idea?” Competition Program
The guest speakers shared their career journeys, the challenges they faced in their entrepreneurial journeys and the strategies they followed to achieve success. Inspiring students to realize their own ideas, they emphasized that entrepreneurship requires determination and vision as well as risk-taking.
During the conference, topics such as the development of business ideas, access to the entrepreneurship ecosystem, university-industry collaborations, and the opportunities and threats faced by young entrepreneurs were discussed.
The conference ended with the presentation of plaques to the participants and a souvenir photo shoot.
