The conference on “Engineering Applications in the Wooden Yacht Sector” organized by the Department of Wood Products Industrial Engineering and the Wood Science and Technology Society (ABITET) was held on Wednesday, 29.05.2024 at the A Block Conference Hall of our Faculty with the participation of Mr. Ferhat KAYA, Founder of FERKA Architecture Furniture and Yachting, Wood Products Industrial Engineer and Mr. Koray İLTER, Wood Products Industrial Engineer.
In the conference, the position of our country in the yacht sector, the plan and production techniques in wooden yacht manufacturing, engineering in interior design, the importance of material knowledge in these areas, the importance of acoustics and vibration precautions in the boat, paint and varnish applications on yachts and boats, and the issues to be considered in surface treatments were discussed.
The event was held in a pleasant atmosphere with the participation of Prof. Dr. Hamza ÇINAR, Head of the Department of Wood Products Industrial Engineering, department lecturers, administrative staff, department students and guests from outside the school.
The conference ended with Prof. Dr. Hamza ÇINAR presenting a certificate of appreciation to the participants.
