Dean of our Faculty and Chairman of the Council of Deans of Technology Faculties Prof. Dr. Musa Atar Participated in a Radio Program on TRT for the Promotion of Our Faculty

Dean of our Faculty and Chairman of the Council of Deans of Faculties of Technology Prof. Dr. Musa ATAR gave information about Gazi University Faculty of Technology and education and training in Faculties of Technology in Turkey in the “Agenda” program produced by Muhammed Enes YILMAZ and presented by Sinem YILDIRIM YALÇIN.

In his speech, he stated that the Faculties of Technology have a very important role in the realization of our country's National Technology move and stated that graduates are involved in important projects in this field.  Dean ATAR stated that our Faculty, where the education period is 8 semesters (4 years), is the pioneer and leader of important faculties that train engineers with high application skills.  ATAR stated that our students who successfully graduated from the Faculty are given a bachelor's degree and its supplement, and that there is the opportunity to have a second bachelor's degree with double major and minor applications, that our Faculty has a very rich teaching staff and that 8 of our faculty members are ranked high in the category of the most influential scientists in the world.

Stating that the departments of our faculty receive students with numerical score type, our Dean stated that in addition to the general quota, graduates of vocational high schools with the MTOK quota also have the opportunity to become engineers.

Stating that the foundations of our faculty were laid in 1937, ATAR stated that they provide a new generation engineering education in a well-established method, and that our students who receive education, when they go to workplace training in the 7th or 8th semester of the last year, they either receive a job offer or start working during the training from the relevant company or business. He explained that according to the data of the Presidential Strategy Office, approximately 20% of the students of the Faculty of Technology have a job while they are still studying, 55% after graduation and 15% within 1-12 months after graduation. He stated that many different activities are carried out with 19 student communities within our faculty, as well as exchange such as Erasmus, internship opportunities abroad, as well as international dual diplomas in some departments.

Stating the importance for Gazi University and the Faculty of Technology for our students to get degrees in various competitions, our Dean expressed their support to our students in this regard.  Explaining the necessity of the Faculties of Technology for our country, ATAR said that the main purpose of the establishment of the Faculties of Technology is to train engineers with high application skills for the industry. He stated that these Faculties cooperate with industrial organizations in their education and training activities and that they organize their curriculum programs in accordance with the needs of the industry and developing technology.

Referring to the number of academic staff of our faculty, our Dean stated that education and training activities are carried out with 109 Professors, 35 Associate Professors, 29 Assistant Professors, 8 Lecturers and 53 Research Assistants.
