Cyber Homeland Program Started in Our Faculty

Under the auspices of the Governorship of Ankara, within the framework of the “Development Agencies Cyber Homeland Program Cyber Security Training Cooperation Protocol” signed between our University and Ankara Development Agency (AKA), the Cyber Homeland Program was implemented in our Faculty.

Forty students who want to improve themselves in the field of cyber security were eligible to participate in this training by successfully completing the tasks in the pre-selection phase and the CTF (Capture the Flag) exam.

As of January 13, the opening of the training, which started in Samsung Smart Design Laboratory, was held with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bahadır Özdemir and Assoc. Dr. Orhan Kaplan, Vice Deans of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. O. Ayhan Erdem, Head of our Computer Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Alper Doğru, Vice Head of our Department, Assoc. Dr. Sinan Toklu, Computer Engineering Faculty Member, Hüseyin Küçüköner, Faculty Secretary, and Ahmet Arvas, Ankara Development Agency Investment Support Office Coordinator.

Within the scope of the program, 40 selected students will participate in theoretical and practical cyber security trainings for six months. At the end of this training process, it is aimed to employ the participants by providing internship opportunities with the incentives of the Presidency of Defense Industry and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The Cyber Homeland Program, carried out under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, aims to raise qualified young people in line with national strategies and to build the digital security future of our country. The program prepares our students for the digital world of the future by including technical trainings, teamwork, vision meetings, national and international competitions.

In 2025, this program, which was implemented in 16 development agency regions and 22 provinces under the name of “Turkey Cyber Homeland Program”, also started the new application process. This scope, which aims to train cyber security experts, aims to provide our students with cyber security awareness and competencies in line with the needs in the sector.
